Anyone got opinions on the free tuner apps which on is best?

i use one called "modTuner" its free, on my windows 8 tablet...

I have an Iphone and use the PolyTune from TC Electronic. If you ever used their stompbox version this works very similarly if you have the iRig input device. You can strum all 6 strings at the same time and tune each one without muting the others. I love it. It works from the phone's mic as well but as with any tuner is then susceptible to other ambient noise.

Regarding the original issue... posting on amp garage... why not try an alternate browser and see if it makes a difference? Some options discussed here :
