:( Very saddening.. Doc is one of my biggest influences and was a helluva picker, with or without a pick. I heard he was in bad health but shit... I'll play Deep River Blues on my Sunday gig for Doc. Hope he enjoys it!

Man, that's a sad bit of news. RIP.

Boy, lately I'm starting to feel a greater responisbility to keep this stuff alive. There seems to have been a lot of greats passing recently.

The thing that always makes Doc's playing stand out and shine is that his
timing, his tempo, is perfect.
Every note, no matter how fast the tune, is on exactly the right beat, so you
hear it very easily. It just glistens.
