Leslie 122 amp trades? :)

Post by Reeltarded »

I got a call. Our 122 started eating fuses. I told them not to keep feeding it fuses, that is for me to do when working on it... duh. 3 new fuses? Really? just take it into the parking lot and run the hell over it... but.. digress here..

Since you guys strip these things down.. anyone have a 122 amp with reverb that they might trade? This amp is in dire need of a cap job, but it doesn't belong to me. It was loaned forever from a long gone friend's family. I don't think they would care if it had a swapped amp.

I assume the problem here is the OC3 failed, only because I have never seen one fail, and there is a first time for everything. ;)

Verb me!

i am going to put a wanted ad in the sale area for one with verb. If you don't want to trade, bring your reverb 122 amp down there for sale, please!

That would be easier than an OC3 here. ;)

....gives a fine run-down on the 122 (sans reverb) You can always remove the reverb amp~ they never seem to work anyways. Seriously though, the reverb amp can be taken out and it will still function just fine. Check this out:

yeah, try new tubes first....Most those old beasts need caps like you say -

Those 122 amps have become really rare - I just sold off my leslie 45 - so now I am down to just 2 leslies in the house - lesser models (302c and 225) - but their still nice.

Aside from the DC switching - those old amps are really straightforward to work on.

good luck.
