Cool birthday present!

Post by Big Jim »

For my 50th birthday my wife got me something pretty cool. Tickets for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers in Estero, Fla. tommorow night. She also sprung for the Experience package that includes a bunch of cool stuff, and seating 15 rows or closer on the floor. I saw them a few years back and they blew the roof off. Campbell is the man.

Very nice. I have never seen Petty, but would love to. Enjoy the show, and happy birthday!

Just got back fellas. The show was awesome. We were 8 rows back center stage next to an isle. Did get a little annoyed with people from the cheaper seats crashing our area, but hey it's rock and roll. Your supposed to go a little crazy. High point for me was "last time your gonna hurt me" off the mojo album. Campbell's backline included his beloved Princeton reverb, a little tweed, and what looked to be possibly a blonde showman?? half stack. His tone killed as usual. That Lester he used on that tune sure seems to agree with him. I believe it's a real deal '59.....yikes!!! We rode our Yamaha roadstar Silverado 560 miles there and back thru the most remote routes we could find. Weather was nice but REALLY windy...like gusts up to 37 mph. We had to dodge a little rain, but all in all, a fine few days away from the everyday. :)
