Northwesterners, ready for the snow?

Post by LeftyStrat »

Anyone in the Seattle area bracing for what is supposed to be the worst snow since '85, let me know if you need a ride to work. I have a Jeep, and if you're a nurse or doctor or other person that needs to be there, let me know and I can get you to work.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

Not worried, usually turns out to be hyperbole. Besides, we kinda got 11" in 2008 on the eastside.

I spent the winter of '74-'75 on the Olympic Peninsula, in Longbranch, about 45 minutes from Tacoma and in the warm zone right on the water. Being from the east, I didn't make much of it when it started to snow. In short order, all sorts of limbs and trees were falling every where. All those conifers have web-like branch structures that catch and hold the snow. Since it doesn't snow but once every 10 years or so (not really sure), the heavy wet snow really does a job on the trees. I can still remember what a disaster it looked like. Good luck. Maybe it will blow over.
