Perc synth help please

Post by AthMJ »

Hey everyone. My friend said someone here will be able to help me with a few simple questions.

1) In this perc synth schematic, I'm confused as to what the symbol for the potentiometers means. The potentiometers are Bourns (mfr # 3309P-1-105). I thought that the "tie point" with the arrow emanating from it would be the one-prong end.

2) With regard to soldering a wire to an 1/8" audio jack, does the wire connect to the circle or one of the prongs?

variable resistor

Hi, in that schematic the pots are wired as a variable resistors. Thus, to emulate this you wire the center post to either one of the outboard legs. Now electrically it does't really matter to which side, however it does determine your CW and CCW resistive settings.

If i'm following you correctly, the plug/jack center tip(post) connects to circuit signal and the "prong" connect to the ground reference side.
