Hurt my baby : (
Just wanted to practise before a gig next week, turned head back to find a pick, and then .... boom ! My little baby felt from 1m on the ground (carpet), damn ... she's 94' MIJ Tele, now I'm so f*** angry about myslef, it's her first scratch, not that big (3cm x 3mm), but still a scratch. And this damn poly finish seems to have tendency to get off in some bigger slices.

Well, better to relic it yourself than pay extra for it?

...least it wasn't a human baby.
..reminds me of the time I put an old old metal 6V6 in one of my champ builds. I was standing there, playing my Tele, checking out the sound, when I decided to reach over and feel the shell of the tube - just to get a sense of how hot it was.
Well, oops, I forgot that I used that "unused" 6V6 pin as a tie point for the screen supply - the same pin that connects to the metal shell on an old 6V6 like this!
Some loud garbled sounds escaped my mouth as I jumped back about six feet and more or less threw my Tele on the floor as fast as I could. But we both survived. Builds character!

Life is a tale told by an idiot -- full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

The first scratch is always the hardest. After that, it is all character.
My 76 Strat was pristine when I bought it in the early 80s. After many years of gigs, the finish is worn down to the wood where ever the strap touches the guitar and I have several "mystery" scratches... but then again, I used to drink a fair amount.
My theory is that the better playing and sounding guitars get more abuse because they spend less time in the case.

Ummmm.......... Strap locks?
Bummer you scratched it but as long as the neck joint is solid it'll still hold tune. If it makes you feel better at least it wasn't an SG it probably would have snapped the headstock off.

I feel your pain. My brother dropped 3....yes, 3 of the amps i put my hard work into. I didn't find out till the following day when my nephew told me. One of the amps just flew right over his shoulder while trying to place it there and the other two he lost his grip on while trying to carry both after a gig. FAMILY! ya got a love em! LOL

Whenever my grandpa brought a new car as soon as he drove out of the dealers yard, he would pull up, get out and go and kick the rear quarter....his reasoning, "better to get the first dent out of the way straight away"
Re: Hurt my baby : (
Now's the question, leave and love it, or repair it.

Leave it for a month or so. If it is still bothering you this bad, then fix it.
