sudden price change at mouser

Post by Andy Le Blanc »

I prepped an order today at mouser.

Three hours later the prices dropped.

IE; one item @ $3.14 became $2.77.....

I'm not complaining, but what the hell happened?

Are things fixed to the stock market close?, daily currency fluctuation?

Why, what's going on?

Yes its called commodities and is what my wife does everyday in the wholesale wire industry. She's on her laptop night and day adjusting prices and reading what is going on in China, Chile, Mexico anywhere there are copper mining and large users like USA and China.

You know, I can remember a time when the gas prices didn't change until the next truckload of gas came in. Wasn't ethical back then.....

It caught me by surprise, I just have never seen it.
It was sudden enough I went back through and checked all the part #'s.
I can see it happening the other way too, that extra % could screw you
with a tight budget in no time flat. It's not unethical, I understand, but
stability is nice too. Instantaneous and unpredictable changes are never good.
