i built a BF princeton (no reverb AA964), but split the tube that is shared by the vibrato and PI. i added another tube socket and rewired the heaters at both sets of pins 9 & 4/5. now i have one 12AX7 with connections on pins 1, 2, & 3, but NOT on pins 6, 7, & 8 - they are untouched. And the same thing for the PI but with a 12AT7.
the amp sounds great.
do i need to do anything with those other pins?
in the future i may use the other half for another gain stage or reverb, loop, etc. but for now i just want to make sure i'm not hurting the other side of that tube.
do any of you think something bad will happen years into the future due to this practice?
thanks in advance

Re: unused tube half
There is no technical problem with running one half of the tube unused. Fender did this with some Bassman models, the Rivera era amps and the Blues Deluxe, Trainwrecks do it in the Express and the Liverpool.
