Static issues

Post by rutledj »

I notice that I have a static problem with all of my instruments. Just rubbing my finger across the pickguard of either the tele or 335 will cause a lot of static in the both of my amps. Tried different cables and they don't seem to matter. The tele is well shielded. Not sure about the Washburn 335 copy.

Any suggestions?

It may be you clothing causing static. Silk or polieaster or how ever you spell it.

Or for a permanent fix that works for a lot of people, (at least on fenders) use a pickguard with shielding on the back and make sure it's grounded.
