Firefly layout if interested

Post by joebob »

here is a layout i did for the Firefly amp, about 2 watts; it is done from the version 3 layout which is attached as a pdf. I have not built this amp so check for errors if interested.

Well if you download that fireflylayout.pdf it show the complete wiring of the amp. I basically just moved the 3 filter caps to the main board. The rev 3 layout shows all the wiring.

Here is the link to a site that has more info, actually where I got the idea. Just go to guitar amps and on the left column he has a link to the Firefly amp.

I must be missing something I printed out the layout with the filter caps on the turret and the layout with the power section isolated. does the B+1 265V power anything other then the OT? that might be what's throwing me.. the squiggly line out, is that just to referance voltage to the OT? While the B+2 and B+3 have a dedicated in on the turret card.
Just wanted to make sure you didn't leave something out.

Would anyone else be interested in a group transformer buy? if we get 20 of each the cost is almost half of a one off. just a thought.

i'll give it a try and let you know how it turns out i'll use wide turrets so if its a loss I can buy the pcb and still get it to work my daughter really wants to build an amp with me so this could be a fast cheap and neat build.

Before you start just make sure my layout matches the rev 3 schematic, if your using it. As I said in my original post I have not built this, I just made a layout for it.

Good Luck,

I checked the layout to the REV 3 it looks like it matches up!!! Great attention to detail!!!
I've got a really strong start and have been documenting the adventure with the camera so you can check it out. I'm on track to have this completed over the weekend. I'll try to get some pics posted tomorrow.

Thank you
