Recommendation for HV LV Bench Power Supply

Post by selloutrr »

I've been trying to reach Weber Speakers in regards to purchasing Parts and the HV LV power supply they list in the Amp Tech Supply section. I've tried calling and emailing several times over the last 3 months, with no reply. I guess they are doing such great business money is no longer needed. Besides more then likely there is a better unit out thier.

what should i be looking for?

Hello sellouttr,

I happened to find a Keithley 240A, 1200Vdc-10mA lab power supply. Not yet working though, but it will be of the correct vintage to work on older tube amps!

I could check with the seller if he has other units...

See my other thread from tonight for the details...

Thank you if you don't mind me asking how much did the power supply cost you?

Can anyone lead me to a Fluke 407D?

50$ was the asking price. But it came within a package with a dual trace 100Mhz scope (Philips) and a func gen... So it ended up less clear than that...

BTW, I checked the internal references today (gas discharge tubes), all within spec. I also have 1800Vdc on the plate of the pass tube.

The architecture of the thing is a tube series regulator with a discrete diff amp and a current sense crowbar that deactivates the grid.

The diff amp is saturated in the off position right now.

Vout is still in the tens of mV. The loop is prob. open somewhere in the decade resistors or else. I reconnected one wire that was dangling so far... but no luck... Will have to fully dismantle the thing...
