Ok so my Super is grounded and is nice and quiet, especially on 2 & 4 on the Strat. But... when i put some nice pedals on there, Zendrive or OCD it develops a strange sort of background hum, very low but still there. Its kind of pulsing kkkkewchrikkkechri....... I guess this amp does not like overdrive. So i think i am back to trouble shooting some caps as suggested by Bluzmike and others. I will start with some new tubes as well.

just because your amp is properly wired doesn't mean that your house is
up to code...... there are plenty of appliances that can cause electrical
noise too....... the dairy farmer next door to me has one old tractor that
I can always tell is running.... no matter what gear I happen to be using
turn everything off that you can and try to see if its something you can do
something about that way...... tvs..... flouresents....lights on a dimmer.....
motors on the same electrical
branch....etc.... go back over your amp for any thing
that looks like a ground loop.... dirty connection...... bad join

Check things w/ other guitars. I've had that happen when I kick the Zen on w/ a strat I have that I suspect isn't grounded effectively,S-S-H/split scheme.
Re: Hum or no Hum
Do your pedals run on batteries or wall transformers? Sometimes that can make a difference. In terms of the amp, raise all your preamp grid wires up and away from the heater wires. And check to make sure the output tube heaters are wired in phase; it's hard to tell because Fender just used green wire, but the wire that connects to Pin 2 on one tube should connect to pin 2 on the other tube. (Same with Pin 7 to Pin 7).

Super or Super Reverb? Are you running on the vibrato channel of a Super Reverb?angelodp wrote:Ok so my Super is grounded and is nice and quiet, especially on 2 & 4 on the Strat. Super
Its a Super 6G4, vibrato channel. Since the change over to grounded plug its much better but there is some low level noise that leads me to believe that their may be some caps that need attending to. Pedals are being run mostly through the One Spot, with some other wall warts. I do have a power conditioner at the wall and its all off of that conditioning bar. Wiring is correct and the heaters are in their normal config for that period. I guess Fender did not go to the raised heaters for some years after this amp. Its a 1960. I also think some of the noise is part of the neighborhood scheme as in the mornings it tends to be much quieter. All my floris are off.

The sound you describe could be your setup picking up the transmit/receive activity from a cell phone or pda.
Sometimes I'm good, then I'm bad..
