Hi,
I bought a Bogner Shiva recently and though it sounds ok I want the gain channel to open up a bit on the high end, it sounds rather dull now.
I tried to add a 470pf cap parallel to the 470k resistor right after the gain pot, but to no avail.
I suspect there's a treble bleeding cap in the gain pot area that's bleeding way to much high end to ground, can anyone confirm that?
It's really hard the trace the schematic since a lot of tracks run under the pcb, but so far I can confirm the lead channel has 4 stages and the boost is a 100k resistor that's switched in and out and that's bleeding to ground right after the gain pot, nothing really special.
Hopefully someone has a schematic or can help me out.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Kind regards,
Frank

I am wondering to build one, schematic please??

seljetnoma, so the boost is like in the XTC? Can post some pictures and part of the scheme?

Mine is a 150K to ground for the anti boost, R16seljetnoma wrote:Hi,

C9 over V2a try changing to a 220pf, it is a 1000pf now?
It is across a 100K plate resistor
Make sure your bright is always in since that is Soldano style across the 470K not on the gain pot. Which BTW has no bright bleed cap, try a 220pf across the Gain pot
On mine the lead channel is 3 stages including the cathode follower (JCM 800 style with bigger cathode resistor and a bypass cap)
V2B looks like it is hooked up but isnt, I get the feeling he hooks it up for high gain people, mine has all the support parts but is totally bypassed this also apply s to V1a on the clean channel, all hooked up but not being used. My clean channel needs this stage, pretty weak.
Here is some wacky shit R46 is a 1K5 across the return level on the effects loop to ground (25K return pot) !!! The effects loop on mine is very goofy and half solid state
The sends for pedal and line level have the Grounds lifted which cause terrible Hiss in TC effects, an attempt to break ground loops where a transformer should have been used.
No caps to ground but two coupling caps are 2n2 which makes mine sound small C6 and C8 I jump C6
Want to buy another
