I'm looking to get hold of some supplies of solder and am hoping someone can tell me what brand/type of solder they are using here in the UK. Getting hold of lead solder in the UK seems to be pretty tricky these days. Obviously there are plenty of suppliers of lead solder in the US, which brings me to my second question.... Does anyone know what the situation is when ordering lead solder from the US with regard to fines, duties etc?
If you can help with this one I'd really appreciate it.
Cheers, Paul.
What solder are you using in the UK. lead free?

Paul,
this is what I use: http://www.conrad.de/goto.php?artikel=812862
Ordering from Germany is probably cheaper than from the US but since it's still readily available here in Germany I reckon you ought to be able to get hold of some from a UK retailer.
Cheers,
Tobias

I still use leaded from CPC (www.cpc.co.uk) as it's way better than the RoHS-compliant stuff.

Thanks for the information tob and paulster, it's encouraging to see that such things are still available this side of the pond!
Cheers, Paul.
