Unused wires on Output Transformer, how to deal with them...

Just curious as to any suggestions on how to deal with unused wires on an output transformer.

The reason I am asking is that in making a ODS clone with just a single 4 ohm output I may wind up using a OT with an 'extra' 8 ohm tap. If I don't want to implement a 'ohm switching' setup, what should I do with the extra wires?

My favorite thing to do with them is to drill a hole in the chassis and install a terminal strip. Solder the "unused" wires to terminals (that are NOT grounded) and they'll never cross any other wire.

I think I would cut the ends off flush so no wire is exposed and then put shrink tubing on them, wind them up in a coil and tie them off with nylon ties.
But I think installing a impedance switch is the way to go for versatility.
And if you have dual primaries you can use a DPDT switch to be able to change impedance on the primaries in case you desire to run different power tubes.

I cut the ends off, folded the end on itself and heat shrunk them, then I neatly laid them out *inside* the end bells so they don't even show.
