airbrake for a 10 watt or less amp
im building a single ended (champ style) amp and want to have an airbrake built right into the chassis if possible. i dont have room for those huge resistors and im not sure if i need them. just wondering if there is a way to make one work and add the controls to the front panel without introducing noise. what parts can i substitute for the large resistors and still have a good working design?

also, how hard is powerscaling a design like a champ instead?

100 watts L-Pad is all you need...

Re: airbrake for a 10 watt or less amp
thanks. how would i hook that up with a bypass switch? and will there be any noise added when running that from the front panel to the speaker jacks in back? i want to use the front panel since i have a lot of extra holes and dont want to reach in the back of the amp all the time to get to the controls.

You may mount it on the front with output tranny to l-pads and l-pads to speakers (instruction on the box). There should'nt be a problem with noise.
Re: airbrake for a 10 watt or less amp
I use the 50watt L-Pad with my 18watt and it sounds good. Actually I usually run it 1/2 to 3/4 volume just to smooth out the highs. It sounds pretty good down to about 1/2 on the volume, then just ok down to 1/3 any further it starts loosing alot of definition and just sounds too muddy to even play. Great deal though.

I'll PM you my schematic if you a serious about installing one inside a champ. My circuit does not use those hugh resistors and it will power scale the output tube.wsaraceni wrote:also, how hard is powerscaling a design like a champ instead?
