2 Channel amp - selecting channels

Post by pjd3 »

Hello.

What I thought would be a nice if not essential feature to have is the ability to choose Left, Right, or Both channels.

It seems like a good way to do this would be to ground the grid of the first stage of the channel not desired to be used.

Should you agree with this, would you ground the grid just before the grid stop resistor?

Thank you.
Best,
Phil D.

I do it like this. Works very well. Requires a special (but widely available) DPDT ON-ON-ON switch.

OK, thanks Sluckey.

You have one input on this schematic where I have two inputs (one for each channel) but I believe that the use of that On-on-on switch can be implimented to provide a Left, Right, both options.

This answers my question though that having the switch just before the grid resistor will yield good operation.

Thank Sluckey, very good!
