Reverb tank needed for Ampeg amp....

Post by zozoe »

Greetings,,,, I have an Ampeg AC12 that's in need of a new reverb tank, & I'm trying to find some impedance in/out specs on it but I'm having a difficult time....
Any direction out there?
Thanks in advance.....

You need a 4FB3A1B pan.

Input resistance 178
Input impedance 1.43k or so.

Output resistance 150.
Output impedance 2.1K or so.
Does your pan check open at either end or did a spring break off at either end?

If you turn the reverb up full and shake the amp about and you head the tank crash then your output end of the tank is good.

Many times if both springs are still good and one end checks open it because a wire had broken off a the RCA jack and it can be hard to see.

If this is the case then the fix is easy.

If a spring has broken off at either end then the tank is done.

Antique electronics has them in there Mod line that they stock.
