Suggest a good meter for working on my amps

Post by hebaton »

I would like to get a suggestion for a good meter. I have no intention of becoming a professional tech, but I like to be able to make simple mods ( with lots of support form you all ) and do simple things like biasing my amps. I understand most say the good meters are Fluke, Fluke and Fluke, but what model ? Would like on that will allow to verify capcitors as well...

Thanks

I just added one to my stable of handheld meters:
BK Precision 890C (for measuring larger capacitors--I have a capacitive discharge magnetizer for speakers)
DER DE-5000 LCR Meter
Fluke 179 (I have two of these)
Fluke 114

I also just picked up a Blue 2 Ring Tester because I buy vintage transformers.
