Hey I’m new to the garage.
I have often heard of the best amp builders watching their clients play and listening to playing style and string attack to aid them in component selection. Building new amps or tweaking non proprietary circuits to fit the player better.
Has anyone collected any information or have useful insight on this topic?

Answering this question in a short & sweet way is like asking for the details on how the Hadron collider was designed and built in just two paragraphs!

I have no real useful information, but Trace at Voodoo amps did this for me when having a JCM800 modded. He did some mods to the amp, then listened to me play for a bit and more importantly listened to any feedback I had while playing, and then tweaked the amp again. It was a great experience that got me interested in tweaking and modding in the first place.
Shut up and play yer guitar

A part of that "art" is detailled in this forum. You can dive in it as deep as you can, but don't expect it to be a short trip - and that's just for theory...
