I'm toying with adding a choke to my p1 extreme build in place of the 100r resistor in the first crc filter in the power supply. My build is a converted Epiphone Electar tube 10 so space constraints are tight and also my voltages are slightly higher due to using the Electar's stock power transformer (~413VDC off the rectifier in this setup).
Most 100mA rated chokes I've found (and from talking to Matt at musical power supplies) are physically the same size as my OPT and will either be an incredibly tight fit or won't fit based on my loose measurements. I found the Hammond 156M that is much smaller then most and will fit but it is rated at 400VDC max. Anyone have experience running chokes over their max DC voltage? It's only ~3% over but I generally like to leave myself some wiggle room.
It’s been tested to be good for at least 1500V.
Maybe try to avoid switches that interrupt the DC current flow within the CLC loop.
