'EXPANSION' Control on Alled Knight Amp

Greetings all,,, I don't yet have a schematic for this amp, but I was curious to know if anyone is familiar with this 'expansion' control that sits between the separate bass & treble, & the volumes on this Model 20WPH amp, something that Allied Knight incorporated in many of their designs..

A lot of mono block and stereo amp for Hi Fi usage had such .

Many manufacturers called it a boost intended to be applied to low volume listening level to boost the Bass if not the bass and highs also.
When I die, I want to go like my Grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep.

That was usually labeled the Loudness control in most amps/receivers.
Tube junkie that aspires to become a tri-state bidirectional buss driver.
