Unverified wiring diagram for your review TAKT GA-10

Post by tremolo »

Amp Community
Unverified wiring diagram for review.
Would you have a look at this. I have a TACK GA-10. Basic repairs and it is now running. Ya Hoo! I was baffled at the rectifier until I got help from the group.
A doubling rectifier.
Original other than the removal of one resistor on the input.
I put my meter on a few spots and recorded the voltage. I have now made a wiring diagram and I am a bit unsure of it.
Here it is.
Thanks again

OK the one diode was in the wrong place.
Please see revised wiring diagram.
Thanks

i haven't messed around with grid leak bias but it appears that it would work, although you'll want to add the kilo (k) to the resistors that need it. if the volume/tone controls aren't super complicated to suss out it would be nice to have those as a complete schematic. you'll end up somebody's hero when they come looking for it

Good feedback. The volume and tone was so simple but I can add it in.

Version #3
See... I told you guys that the rectifier twisted my mind.
One rectifier needed to be reversed.
So see version #3. Keep the feedback coming and I am sure we are close if not done.
Thanks

Hey sorry for all of the go around. But I think we have it.
The version that matches the amp and Bogen systems that use the same design is as follows.
Let me know if this works for you.
I will add in the volume and tone on a rainy day.

This is a grid leak bias tube stage. You need a capacitor between the vol/tone network and that 5M grid leak resistor.

I hope the "100" and "270" plate resistors are really 100k and 270k, ditto for the 500 to ground resistors. :)

Thanks, as now we know the value of the tone cap.

OK I will double check that and revise. There is a .01 between the tone and volume.
Thank you.

You have pointed out that this is a grid leak design. I have a wiring diagram (Beltone AP-A) with the same tubes as the Takt. And I that I think, is cathode biased.
Is there an advantage to either or just different?
Thanks in advance.

Not talking about the tone cap. You need an additional cap to prevent the vol/tone circuit from messing up the delicate grid leak negative bias voltage on the grid of the second 6AV6. Just like the grid cap on the first 6AV6.See pic...

Wow this is great. There is no cap there. But I am looking at the wire to the tube pin and and solder and it is not done well or original. So I am going to add in a cap in that place and see what happens.
This is so helpful!
