Rotary Impedance Switch Source
I usually use sku # P-600 from CED/AES. Seems to be suddenly unavailable. Anyone else have a source?
I hate when I design around certain parts only to have them go unavailable. Complete bullshit!

Re: Rotary Impedance Switch Source
Hoffman amps has them listed as discontinued too but one per order:
https://hoffmanamps.com/MyStore/perlsho ... !ORDERID!
so you could at least get one....

Re: Rotary Impedance Switch Source
Thanks Phil, but that link isn't working for me.

Gotta get that exclamation point into the url too. Try this...

Re: Rotary Impedance Switch Source
Speaking of rotary impedance switches, can anyone recommend one for a Blackface/Silverface era Fender chassis?
I'm working a AA864/AB165 Bassman hybrid and I would like to be able to switch between the 4/8/16 ohm speaker taps my OT has.
Normally I would use the one listed on Hoffman's site, but those BF era chassis are just a little too short for it to comfortably fit (only 1.75 inches high).
Any recommendations I should check out? It is literally the last piece of hardware I need to get for this project!

Thanks, I fixed mine too, somehow the 'auto url' didn't work, so I wrapped it with url bbcode.

Re: Rotary Impedance Switch Source
That's my back up plan... One 8 ohm jack for the main speaker (it is going in a 1x12 combo) and two 4 ohm taps if I want to use an extension 8 ohm cab as well.

Re: Rotary Impedance Switch Source
Two/three jacks it's what I've aways done in my amps. It seems to me more reliable and economic as well.

Re: Rotary Impedance Switch Source
I stole this idea from a comet amp I worked on. A bit labor intensive but works and looks cool.

Re: Rotary Impedance Switch Source
Looks like you'd be multiplying the ampacity with parallel poles, right?

Re: Rotary Impedance Switch Source
Indeed. Plenty of current with a cheap, ubiquitous, alpha switch.
Re: Rotary Impedance Switch Source
C&K make rotary switches rated at 2.5A AC per pole.

The manufacturer of that switch is NKK. Unfortunately, they discontinued it some while ago. I like the quality of their switches a lot, and use them for the heavier duty toggle switches.
I also like the flush-mount style of rotary selector switches, and fortunately Schurter makes some nice quality types for voltage and impedance selector switches in this style.
they have a 3-way impedance switch labeled 4,8, and 16Ω which is part #: 0033.4032
and I use their 3-way voltage selector labeled 110, 220, and 240 which is part #: 0033.4002 (but they have other combinations in different pole configurations as well)
Here is an example of how I used them and what they look like:

Doesn't look quite as robust as the NKK switch but tubes and more just added this: https://www.tubesandmore.com/products/s ... position-0
