I'm using Alpha pots for the first time on a build and, owing to their relatively short bushing height, I don't have enough thread room for an internal star washer, a panel, an outer washer and the nut. There's a bit of a hub on the bushing that stands the pot body off of the chassis. Do any of you open the hole to let this sink further, or is anti-rotation a luxury with these pots when using panels?
Here's the pot without the panel. Seems like there's no more room to give.
The little tab on the left is the anti-rotation feature. Their intent is for you to drill an extra hole in the back of the panel for the tab to sit in. If it's a thick panel the hole doesn't need to go all the way through.
That's what i thought. I'll likely do that next time if I stick with Alpha. I usually use CTS but couldn't find a non-Alpha dual 1MA pot to save my life. I called CTS and they said they'd make me a batch of dual 1MA pots if I bought at least 1000 of them. Yeah, no.
