Hey all,
Have any of you experimented with parallel/series switching with the 5E3 bright and normal channels?
If the channels are jumpered at the inputs and the channels are switched to be in series, what happens?
I imagine this is problematic but I'm not sure. Hope this has come up with some of you.

You can jump them at the input easily with another short cable and get the tonal combination of both channels to use, but to put them in series you need to go in and rewire the amp.
If you where to do this you would have a ton more signal gain and only be able to open up the volume control to half the amount you do now before the driver and output stage start to distort.
Right now if you go look at the schematic the cathode of both of the first gain stages for each channel are in paraelle.

Thanks for your reply, but that wasn't really my question. I was asking about if the amp has the channels switched to be in series, then the inputs are jumped, what happens. I think I've figured it out though, and the first cascaded channel is shorted, leaving only the second.

No, if it's cascaded there is no second channel.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.
