PR-6BM8 minimalist

Post by 10thTx »

About a year ago, I built my HoSo56 "the minimalist" using 6BM8 tubes, a 5879 V1 & with active FX. It gets a lot of play here at home!

So on another forum, someone was trying to figure out how to build an amp with 4 tubes that would have reverb and tremolo. So, I drew up this idea for them. I have NOT built this so consider this a DRAFT version. Check for errors, compare schematic with layout and IF there is a discrepancy, go with the schematic.

The idea was to get something that might have a tone towards a Princeton Reverb in a 7-9 watt range with only 4 tubes.

I thought I'd share this idea incase someone here might be interested in trying this. There are some ExpressSCH editable versions attached also.

If someone used a 225-0-225 PT with 120 ma or more, with solid state rectification that should be a guesstimated 300v on the 6BM8 pentode plates.
Closest I could find was this: https://www.edcorusa.com/xpwr152

I used a Deluxe 5E3 OT on the HoSo56 minimalist.

That looks like a cool idea! If I ever get shop space set up (we just moved), and more importantly, time, this would be a fun project! Thanks for sharing!
