It’s been over a decade since I’ve built a tube amp (I’ve built 7 total ) and I am having trouble remembering how to read a transformer schematic. I am using a Ceriatone kit and a Classic Tone PT #40-18054. (http://www.classictone.net/40-18054.pdf) This PT has extra leads for almost every option. I am wiring it for 120V. I am using a GZ34 Tube Rectifier ( I want to be able to switch to a SS rectifier in the future) . I reached out to Classic Tone and they were reluctant to help until I was persistent in asking. I attached a Pic of the PT and the layout. I also have included the instruction they gave me but according to their schematic I think they gave me info for a SS rectifier only . Any help in deciphering what colors coincide with the ceriatone layout would be greatly appreciated.
Their instruction :
You hook the blk and brn together
And
Blk/wht and brn/wht together
Tape off the white and gray and that’s your primary winding
Tape off the reds
Use the orange for the rectifier
The red/yellow and green/yellow go to ground
Tape off the red/blue

Everything they told you is correct EXCEPT they chose the lower voltage output. To match the Ceriatone layout... Tape off the orange wires and use the red wires for the rectifier.

You might be interested in using this circuit / mod.
You still get Normal recto tube V+ sag, but the overall load is reduced such that the tube last a bunch longer.
Also if the recto tube does fail on you you just replace the fuse, yank the tube and run off the diodes!

Re: Need help with JTM50 Classic Tone PT #40-18054 wiring
Just about to Solder Leads and could use confirmation so i don't mess it up. I've Hooked up the Green wires to the V4 and grounded the Grn/Yel and Red/Yel . According to the Diagram instructions on the bottom i should use Red-Red/Yel-Red for a tube rectifier but the verbal instructions i got were to use Orn/Orn which was later confirmed here to use Red/Red for the Tube rectifier instead. I'm Taping off the Gry, Wht, Red/Blu, and i am assuming the Yel/Yel too since its not being used according to the directions. I have Blk/Brn together and Blk/Wht and Brn/Wht together. So i am going to solder the Reds to the Rectifier Pins 4 and 6 . My confusion is the primary wiring and where to wire the Blk/Brn and Blk/Wht - Brn/Wht. Do these wires get soldered to the same lug or are they split up? The Ceriatone PT Layout shows a wire from 0 going to the AC plug, H1 and H2 going to the Rectifier on Pins and the wall voltage in going to the Power Switch . Is the Blk/Wht - Brn/Wht H1 and H2? Do i solder the Blk/Brn to gether at the lower Power switch lug? Which wire is 0? Thanks again for any help i really appreciate it .

If you are using a tube recto, you need the yellow pair (5vAC, to heat the recto filament) and the red pair (HT).
For the primary, follow the instructions on the image you posted, not on the Ceriatone layout.

Thanks for the help . So Red goes to Pin 6 and 4 and Yellow goes to Pin 2 and 8 on the recto? My question on the primary wiring and where to wire the Blk/Brn and Blk/Wht - Brn/Wht. Do these wires get soldered to the same lug or are they split up? The Ceriatone PT Layout shows a wire from 0 going to the AC plug, and the wall voltage (120 ) is going to the Power Switch . Do i solder the Blk/Brn together at the lower Power switch lug? Which wire is 0? Thanks again for any help i really appreciate it .

You twist the blk and brn together and they stay together and connect to the ON/OFF switch.
You twist the Blk/wht and brn/wht together and they stay together and connect to the Neutral lug on the IEC AC power connector.
