Shipping amp to Australia

Post by Guy77 »

I have an amp I built a few years ago, its a Rocket clone amp. I do not use it much and so I decided to sell it to make some money for another build I wanted to do.
I have found a buyer for it in Australia and I will ship it from Canada.
I was going to label it as "spare electrical parts" to save the buyer some money with custom fees. I was wondering if anyone has shipped an amp to Australia before and if there was any issues with it passing through customs.

Thanks everyone

Cheers!

We pay import on everything that comes in now. There used to be $1000 threshold.
Labelling it as spare parts could cause more of an issue. If it looks too under valued they will research the item and could value it more. A friend got charged full price on a second hand bass because they valued it so cheap.

Thanks,
Aaron

Thank you Araon, that was very helpful!

I will list is as a working amplifier and set a more reasonable value for the item.
I did not see amplifiers on the list of restricted items for importing into Australia so I believe it will not be an issue.

Thanks again!

Thanks Reel. The buyer actually mentioned doing that as well.

If it's non-op.. it's junk. That is what a friend who works at the harbor told me. ;)

I keep hearing Johnny Cash singing "One Piece at a Time"..
