Greetings and whatnot:
I've been accumulating some Hammond Organ Iron over the last couple of weeks on the fleabay. I just got an M2 amp with 9/25/52 written in grease pencil on the lower bell of the power tranny.
What's unusual (for Hammond Organ anyway) is that there are three wires coming out of the speaker side of the OT and the black one was grounded. (It's a 6V6 amp and came with a couple of new looking Sylvanias.) The scheme shows it as a center tap. I'm going to run some turns ratio tests this evening to see what I got, but it seems to me that the extra wire might be used as a 4 ohm tap? <snip> Answered my own question.
Obviously, most output trannys get grounded one way or another through the jack, but it would seem maybe that I better use an isolated speaker jack or don't ground that center tap. Edit. I'll ground one end, just like normal.
Thanks in advance
Dan H
