My aim is to bias the KT77/EL34 at -15vdc, 26mA. The original design did that by DC coupling the EL34 to totem pole driver stage(12AU7 with current source plate load). I would like to just use cathode bias for simplicity, and from previous experience, totem pole circuits don't seem to sound good when driven hard.

Attached is a design I'm getting ready to try. The idea came from a Hifi design I posted previously - I thought it would be interesting to try. My goal is to try to get some of the SE tone combined with a PP output stage - not sure what the result will be. Comments/Critique welcome

Please explane what SE tone is to you?
When I die, I want to go like my Grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep.

Re: EL34 > Interstage > PPKT88
My understanding is that an SE output stage doesn't cancel the even order harmonics like a PP does - so I'm thinking it might add some pleasant harmonic content to the mix.
