I've built a trex style amp, with an LTP PI. And the signals out of the LTP are really out of balance... like 4 times the signal out of one side than the other.
It's bizarre. I've swapped tubes... The cathodes are soldered together on the triodes (I have checked that about 10 times now). I just can't understand why it's so incredibly unbalanced.
Any ideas?
Unbalanced LTP phase inverter output?

Start fooling with the size of the plate resistors on each end. Make one 82K and the other 100K.Mickey_C wrote:I've built a trex style amp, with an LTP PI. And the signals out of the LTP are really out of balance... like 4 times the signal out of one side than the other.

I'd suspect you have something loading down that side. I'd check for a leaking cap first. Check the voltages, make sure they're in line, even measuring directly at the sockets.
