HELP - Standalone Preamp Balanced Output Options

Post by ncusack »

Hey everyone,

I'm looking at building a standalone tube preamp and was wondering what experience people have adding a balanced line output. I know a transformer is the most likely option for this kind of application but is it possible to use the sacrilegious op-amp to do the same thing?

Let me know whatever you can.

Cheers,

Neill

the tube into transformer is so easy when you already have a high voltage high impedance preamp. Why complicate things with low voltage circuits? Just get an Edcor 10k:600 transformer and drive it with a cathode follower. Easy as pie!
