Blues Deluxe RI EQ Settings? NO HATE PLEASE!
I recently bought a used Fender Blues RI... I have been struggling to get a good balanced sound out the amp. The amp is mostly stock other than a Jensen P12Q and a 12ay7 in V1. I would like to know what are some good EQ settings for the amp when using low output bright strats and a germanium fuzzface clone. Is there anything so make the amp sound less "thin"? Before you begin to reply about how bad these amps are, please help me. Thanks.

How about listening to the amp while you adjust the EQ knobs? What do YOUR ears tell you?

This question is really too vague to answer. Please give us a bit more to go on. What are you hearing that is not pleasant? Is it too bassy, too bright, too scooped, too mid-spikey????
If you are finding that the EQ is a problem, you might try an external EQ pedal with 5 or more bands. They give you added flexibility that a built in tone stack sometimes lacks.
But unless you know what you are trying to solve, you won't be able to, and neither will we.

I own an original blues deluxe (half triode not used). After the original speaker died i tried a vintage 30 in it and it became a much better amp .Even now that i like that amp much more , probably gonna sell it to fund a BF deluxe rev build . So after using a low watt alnico in my 5e3 clone vs the same vintage 30 the alnico wins by far in that amp. Might just come speaker choice im thinking from past experience the alnico might not be the right choice for the blues deluxe

I am just finding that the amp sounds too bright, and to spikey/punching (even with presence on 0...). Here are my current settings for a clean sound:
BRT: OFF
BASS: 9
MIDDLE: 3
TREBLE: 4
REVERB: 4
PRESENCE: 0
Any EQ samples? I know that this greatly depends on the room/atmospherics conditions...etc; but I am really have a hard time with this amp. I play mostly blues/rock/old school RnB.

I have never played through one of these amps. But here is what I do to set an amp (I play a strat with vintage to medium output pickups):
Neck pickup on.
Guitar volume and tone on 10.
Find a nice, bright tone on the amp. This usually means the tone controls are about like so--bass 4, mid 7, treble 7.
From that point on I use the volume and tone controls on the guitar (I wire my strat to have a tone control on the bridge pickup too).
I use the tone controls on the guitar A LOT.

I really can't stand these amps but the guys around my town love them but of course the amps are always broke down.
Tubes and speakers can make or break an amp, sorry have nothing else to offer to help you out with these amps.
