Man, these caps sure leak
Everytime I work on an old amp with these Sangamo coupling caps they leak like crazy.....In an old Sears (Silvertone) 1474 I was just working-on all of these caps leaked, every single one. Blech.

Good heads-up for me since I still have to work on my 1959 model 1451. Filters and speaker have been replaced. Still need to install the iso-tranny. Wasn't going to check the caps for leakage but I sure will now.

Pula yours might have sat in a hot garage or something. I've got quite a few of those old Sangamo's that are just fine. That 1451 looks a lot like my 1331 internally (mine has yellow Astrons, amp is from 1954) and is clean inside. Doesn't look like it suffered much from weathering or heavy usage in general. I'll bet your caps are ok. Looks at how gnarly Pula's look in the first picture..
