Bias question
I have a bogner ecstasy and wanted to make biasing easier can I just add a 1ohm resistor off pin 8 to ground on each tube to measure the bias?

Re: Bias question
Yes, as long as you open the existing ground paths or insert them so that the tube current has to pass through the 1R resistors.
Re: Bias question
oh that's a problem, I'd have to cut the trace(circuit board mounted). Thanks for the info
Re: Bias question
Yes, circuit board amps are a real PITA to mod.
He who dies with the most tubes... wins

Screw up your courage or set it aside until you conger up a good work around. There's always a way.jamme61 wrote:oh that's a problem, I'd have to cut the trace...
Re: Bias question
You can make your own socket adaptor for checking bias, or buy one from Weber: "For those on a budget, the Bias Rite adapter head is available separately." See near bottom of page: http://taweber.powweb.com/biasrite/br_page.htm
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com
