Adjusting nfb resistor: 5F2A

Post by funkgang49 »

What is the effect of adjusting the value of the NFB resistor (22K) in 5F2A circuit?

More negative feedback (less resistance) results in a cleaner, tighter more focused sound, also less overall gain.
Less negative feedback (more resistance) results in a hairier more loose sound, a little more easily overdriven.
I actually put a variable NFB in my tweed bassman style amp. I replaced the ground switch with at pot. I l had a resistor in series with the pot to set a maximum level of nfb when the pot was all the way up (0 ohms).
I don't remember the values off the top of my head.
It's a great little mod to an amp.
