VVR 5E3

Post by kinski »

I stalled VVR on my 5E3. Amazing!

However, I'm getting scratchy pots now. Could you guys help me out and let me know how to wire up the .1uf caps and 1m resistors? Also, how the jacks should be wired without the 1m resistors on them.

I've seen a photo or two of this, but it's hard to tell in the photos what is going on.

I heard a little strip of turret is useful. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

The pot act as a return path from the tube grid to ground. With the VVR you need to put a capacitor in series with the pot wiper. Now when you do that the grid does not have a dc path to ground that it normally had through the pot wiper. So along with putting the cap in line with the wiper you need to put a resistor on the other side of the capacitor, between the capacitor and the grid.
