neon pilot wiring

Post by andrew »

Hi all, I have a 120v neon pilot lamp wired to a two post carling on/off switch. When ON the amp powers up but the lamp goes off. When the switch is OFF the amp doesn't power up but the lamp comes on. I'm flummoxed. Any help please. Thank you.

Rewire so that one wire from the lamp goes to one wire of the PT, and the other wire from the lamp goes to the other wire of the PT.

Or label it an OFF indicator. :D

Sounds like it's wired to the opposite end of the switch as the PT. It should be on the same side.
