to use it in a 2 el84 3 12ax7 build, which there specked for, but the thing seems kinda tiny and was wondering if any of you guy have tried it, are they up to the task? or should i save it for a single-ended build, thanks mark

Go ahead. It will work fine. The 18-watt Lite IIb I built (Bone Monkey) with barely-adequate PT and OT was AWESOME. I think the lightweight iron contributed to the character of the distortion.
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com
Re: blues JR powertransformer
I did an 18 Watt Lite IIb kinda thing in a stock Blues Jr cab and used the stock PT. Sounds awesome and has been running for 4+ years being gigged at least twice a week (usually more).

Cool thanks Xtian, I think ill try a matchless lightning as i have some 4k 20 watt output tranys ive been wanting to try.
Here's one i just finshed up in valve jr head, the clear plexi is kinda cool, the output tranys is from a orange tiny terror and the pt i got from a old amp, i gave it a good work out this afternoon and it just screams! for amp that really cost nothing to put together im real happy
