I just threw up in my mouth a little but frosted flakes tastes the same both ways. I learned that back in drinking school.

Yes, looks typical for a Diaz. Fun amps!

Looks like an explosion in a spaghetti factory. I've had to fix - properly - more Diaz crap than I care to think about. Latest was a tweed Pro, purported to be his own 'pet' amp. Had at least 13 things wrong with it. With an amp so simple, that means almost everything. It was barely hanging together.

AFAIC Diaz's bark was much much bigger than his bite.

But I heard he did good recones so not all is wasted.

Some big $$$ dope will come up with the scratch, or most of it. Hope this dog doesn't wind up on my bench.

My small experience with Cesar wasn't good...that's all I'll say about that.

I know Warren Haynes uses a Diaz as part of his setup. Warren knows tone. SRV talked highly of Cesar and he knew tone. Kind of an enigma, cause it seems like most average joe's, don't mean to offend anybody, have pretty poor opinions of Cesar's work, yet he managed to convert some high profile guys.

$9000 for a plate of spaghetti? No effing way. I'll make my own.

I'm not sure why the wiring bothers you?
Is it safe to assume you would never play a 70's fender amp?
Those fenders are a cluster of wire... Yet regarded as great amps.
Like the guy, hate the guy, close your eyes and play the amp if you like tone it's a good amp. If you like it enough pay $9000.

Professional artists often don't pay for gear. That may explain the difference in buyers comments. Get your gear into the hands of a pro and the fans will buy it.

Yeah but there's a huge difference between $600 for a silverface Fender and this 'thing'. And I'd say from the looks of those parts, even less than a silverface. But none of this means it won't sound good, however the vid doesn't sound like anything particularly special to me. And at that price you're looking at AC30, tweed Bassman and Marshall Plexi options. Diaz don't stand a chance!

I just saw the link...
The manufacture isn't selling it..that its a third party seller.

Why are we surprised that store is always over priced. They assume words like "rare" and 1 of a kind" mean $$

1 of a kind can also mean damn that was a bad idea lets never do that again haha

I was under the impression it was a new model being offered as mass production. Not always easy to see links on my phone.

Well I have no interest the amp. As stated $9k will buy you very nice tried and true amps. You can sell easily.

This is it in a nutshell for guys like us. For the most part, we can build whatever we want. I am going to guess for $1,000 even I could get to a pretty close replication (if I had a schematic), including a decent cab and tolex. Remember, I claim only amateur status here and still think I can do it.

Most folks have no idea about the difference between a resistor and a cap, and little understanding of the significance of an insulated jack vs. uninuslated. They can't build. They are relegated to the seller's market. In any market, there can be perceived value. Someone may yet buy this amp for the asking price, just because they want it and because they can.

Some get freebies "off the shelf" amps guitars strings picks FX cables, you name it. For "artisan" built amps they PAY. And just because someone is a big name rock star, or jazz or anything else, doesn't at all mean they can't be hornswoggled by A) what other big name talents are using or claim they use, B) what certain amp/fx/guitar builders have been reviewed in the press or online, and worst C) what certain "big deal" amp builders write about themselves in Guitar Holder and other mags & online. Dead or alive. Texan or otherwise.

Believe me I've seen it happen plenty over the last third of a century.

Some just can't believe the horsesh!t they bought is just that. And they think the worse of me for showing them. Tough noogies. Others figure it out, learn from their mistake & take it in stride. A couple of these last have taken to calling me Doctor DeBunker.

I'm referring to Gerald Weber. Debunk this one for us Mr. Blackburn, is he a Texan or a fake?

I wish I was a Texan, so I could vote Kinky Friedman for Governor. "Remember my slogan - 'how tough could it be?' "

I've got a pile of pretty interesting letters from Ken about Weber and the climax amp.
