Sudden loss of signal on OD amp

Post by angelodp »

Ok, here is the skinny. Let me preface by saying I did chat with Henry at Redplate and I am going to ship this amp back to Henry for repairs. Henry is great and tried to trouble shoot on the phone. I am just curious as to what might be the issue.

Th amp was working fine, I then plugged in a Marshall Guv nator pedal to the front of the amp. The pedal was dimed and I got that nice crunch with the RP on OD, then wham ..... loss of level. I could still hear it but very low. The amp works fine with a preamp signal from another amp in. I checked all tubes. the #1 and PI needed to be changed out. The amp's speaker is fine. The pre-amp signal out to another amp is the same issue, very low signal. V1 a&b and V2 a&b all have proper voltage levels.

Any thoughts appreciated.

The preamp has a 2 minute to find problem that is impossible to imagine out of existance with a description. Cold joint probably.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.
