Hi Folks!
I have a Supro 1650 TRA on the bench and the reverb tank is done
It is a short tank made by Gibbs and has no markings on it that I can see
Anyone have insight into the appropriate replacement?
Thanks,
Markus V

Reverb replacement Supro 1650 TRA
.........Now where did I put it?
Re: Reverb replacement Supro 1650 TRA
You may have to do some measuring of resistance or impedance to figure out a replacement unit.

Under the foam in the inside of the tank should be a sticker with information for Gibb/Hammond.
Type 1 and 9 are the short tanks.

Accutronics equivalent is most probably a Type 4A pan

Type 1 has 2 springs and type 8 has 3 springs.

In a general sense any tank with proper input and output impedance can be used as replacement if the original tank can't be repaired.Markusv wrote:Thanks folks!!

I want the amp to remain fairly close to spec though- the owner insists.
Personally I would have gone with a long tank
