Mesa Boogie DC 3 EQ problem

Post by na3d »

I have a problem when I use EQ on my dc3. Even when the EQ is not in use the 2,3 and 4 slide pot's need to be on the top! If not there's a lot of noise and hum and harsh and... Especially when I play the tones A and B on my guitar. I changed all the tubes and checked the capacitors so no problems there! Can anyone help me please! Don't know what to do

There are quite a few good trouble shooters on this forum, however, you should do your part in helping them too: post the schematic!

Furthermore, which capacitors did you check? there are normally quite a few in a guitar amp and even a filter capacitor has influence on how your amp behaves when playing certain notes because of excessive energy being consumed.

Good tubes is one good thing to know, however, good tubes with bad operating voltages do not work well, have you checked for correct operating voltages?

Post the requested info and you will start getting some suggestions from the smart & knowledgeable fellows around here (BTW, I am not one of them! )

All the best.

Start by cleaning the faders with DeOxit D5 spray, then lube them with DeOxit Fader Lube.

+1

Yep, could be as simple as a weak signal.

Cheers.
