Got another mystery on the bench. This time AFAIK the amp works "fine" but I can already see a leaky low voltage can cap and a few other things I'm going to touch up (some recapping and such). One of the other things I am supposed to do is fix some of the broken sliders. I was given a donor amp (Silvertone 125XL) to steal some slider pots from to repair some of the broken sliders but this is where I'd like a schematic. Before I rip out the board completely (quite a bit of work) I want to make sure that the sliders I'm going to salvage are the same value.
So, with all of that said, does anybody have a schematic for a Silvertone 200XL solid state amp and/or a 125XL? I can't find anything on google..
This amp is quite the opposite of your typical 60's Silvertone amp inside, it's got a nice sturdy PCB, big ol' fat stranded wire everywhere and is all in all well built. It was a cinch to get inside too. It's a nice change from the typical Silvertone's I have worked on in the past!

You might try to get a copy of the Jack Darr amplifier book. If I remember correctly he had a few solid state amps in there, and certainly a good number of Silvertones.

Re: Silvertone 200 XL schematic?
Thanks, I'll look into that. I'm gonna go ahead and pull out the pots and just measure them, I'm betting that the 125XL and 200XL use the same tonestack.
Should I convert this amp to a 3-prong cord? Right now it has a 2 prong cord, a death cap and an AC polarity switch. It's low enough voltage to not worry me (I don't think this guy will be playing through this and a PA ever) but the current plug is unpolarized. I'd feel safer converting this amp over but that means I have to drill out the current AC plug hole so that a 3-prong strain relief will fit (not unusual, just annoying!).

You have to convert that thing.. I mean to say it's funny when you can see stars around someone's head, but you know..
