On the Way to the Hardware Store

Post by The New Steve H »

Here's a great tip for people who use waterslide decals for the legends on their amp faces. After spending an hour getting everything just right, when you get out the acrylic to spray over the decals, make sure it's not SATIN FINISH.

I heard that from some...idiot.

LOL, I guess they teach you about numbers more than words in the physics department? Oh, that story wasn't about you, it was about someone else. Sorry for the mix up.

He also says the clear doesn't look too good, either. The plastic under the lettering in the decals is a little cloudy, and it shows.

I like the new faceplate, but I am fairly bummed out by the visible decal borders.

ouch my eyes it's like trying to read a 1996 web page on geocities.

The font is called ants, and this is my favorite background.. metal lizard.

It looks really good, but it doesn't respond well to a flash.

Whew, no thank you - I don't want an eye test (makes me recall those dilating eye drops and the glaucoma test air bursts) when all I hope to do is adjust the damn amp. That hurts.

Looks cool from the audience, I'm sure...

Could be worse. Could be a prostate test.

I failed.
I couldn't even see the lettering.

I say we ban lettering as a fashion trend.

Make them twiddle the knobs until they get the perfect sound, and give them opportunities to find the right tone for each venue!

I label, but I don't put numbers on.
Hell, everyone seems to use clock positions anyways.

A Sharpie to label the purpose of the knob...one letter is all you need. If you can't figure it from that....I dunno.

hahahaha I propose a contest. Least readable faceplate. No rules.

Blind me!

My idea is a 2pt. font like Klingon backlit with a search light, or a 100 gigawatt blue laser.

The labels are very readable, except in really awful cell phone photos.

This whole thing will peel right off, so it's not like the amp is ruined.
