I just ordered a small, Sig Gen, Elenco FG 500-K.
A friend of mine gave me an old Eico 377. I am sure it needs a cap job, and who knows what shape the rest of the circuit/tubes are in.
Other than nostalgia, would there be any benefit to getting this old piece of gear running properly..... just using it to work on guitar amps.
Thank You
It looks like this..... http://www.tnt-net.ca/ve6kq/eico377.html

Re: Audio Gen
Well.....
My signal generator arrived today. It is much smaller/lighter/easier to use than this old Eico is.
The Eico runs 2x6K6 power tubes, a 6 volt rectifier, and 2 octal preamp tubes.
I am thinking about just making a "low power" guitar amp out of it instead. Any of you guys have experience with the 6k6 in a guitar amp.?
Thank You

Re: Audio Gen
It seems like an easy fix (recap) to bring that Eico back into service. Equipment of that era was the order-of-the-day when tubes were king. The older gear certainly has character.
By the way, I have one exactly like it. Mine needs a recap too. It's on The List ..... if you know what I mean. I used those in the lab when studying electronics back in 1970.

Yeah, the ink stamp on the chassis says 1965.
