Inspire Me: Peavey Deuce II
Was donated a Deuce II to work some magic on.
Looking around it was never a great amp, worth no more than $200 no matter what shape it's in, and all I have is the working chassis.
I'd install a filament transformer to take care of preamp tubes.
Seen some rumors of a good starter for an ODS?
Or...?

Re: Inspire Me: Peavey Deuce II
You might not need to go and buy an extra transformer as most of them have enough surplus to handle three or four preamp tube filaments. Wire up the filaments only and read your voltage with the power tubes only installed. Then plug in your preamp tubes and see what your filament voltage settles at. If it's 6.3v or above you're golden.
If you believe in coincidence you're not looking close enough-Joe leaphorn

Thank you Dawg.
So...
Which D circuit for this iron?
It would be my first D build after many other varied adventures.

So, I have nothing but time on my side for this one.
Imagine it's yours, what would YOU do?
Recap it, build a head cab, and sell it for $200?
Or...make something worthy?

Re: Inspire Me: Peavey Deuce II
If it were me, I'd keep the chassis and transformers, gut it and put on new faceplates.
Vintage Peavey xformers were American made, and rarely failed. I fixed a lot of Peavey's in my day (mostly because they were great sellers), Say what you want about Peavey amps' sound, but they were built as well as anything out there.
