Is there any advantage to moving the 390R 1uf arrangement to the main board and then routing the grounds to the speaker ground. Does if affect the operation of the Presence circuit in any way or alter the sonic quality for the better.

The circuit will be the same regardless of where the ground goes.
HAD probably grounded the presence circuit where he did for lowest noise or some other sonic silliness.
